E-Commerce.
Add credit card payment to your web site.
If you sell products or services and you want to take orders online then you probably need an e-commerce system.
There are now a number of credit card payment gateways offering "online credit card payment" on the Internet such as:
Barclays EPDQ
HSBC CPI
PayPal
WorldPay
We have many years of experience in integrating online credit card payment systems with these companies so that you not only get paid but, have access to payment history, orders and dispatch dates etc. It is important to remember that getting paid is only part of an e-commerce system. Ensuring that the goods are also dispatched and all invoices/orders are recorded is just as important.
By using an existing “payment gateway provider” you don't have to worry about the security problems of dealing with credit card details and verifying card details - this is done for you by the gateway provider - making the system easier and cheaper for you to implement with the peace of mind that security of credit card details is someone else's responsibility.
Before deciding on a preferred payment gateway we strongly recommend that you first research the costs and how long they keep your money before payment is issued as they can vary significantly. PayPal offers the best terms and is now widely recognised although, your bank manager may disagree.
Basic e-commerce integration should include the following;
- Passing order details to your chosen “payment gateway”.
- Returning the customer to your web site after payment is made.
- Payment notification sent to your chosen email address.
- Storage of the order and payment details in a database that can be accessed by authorised users from a login or admin application.
- Displays orders dispatched or not.
- Displays paid orders by month or year that can be printed for your records.
Please note: Basic e-commerce is included in our “shopping basket software” price. You may want to check it out first.
